9 Hours Capsule Hotel in Tokyo Airport Nanqi You
We have 14 hours overnight layover in Norita Airport in Tokyo Japan. Steve found this Capsule Hotel at the airport. That is where we spent the night. Each capsule costs about $50. So we spent about $100. Great experience.
The pod is sufficient. It is 3ft tall with a twin size foam mattress. At the check-in, you are given a bag of towels, disposable slippers, toothbrush and paste, and importantly, a gown. The pillow is partial buckwheat and can be a little hard for western tourists. The gown is essential since the toilets, lockers, and showers are communal. Men and women are in separate sleeping quarters. Internet is good so communicaction can be carried out by texting.
There are no electric plugins in the pod. There is no way you can securely lock it either. Only a pulldown screen to give a little privacy.
Shower is very clean and shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. The highlight is the toilet. It is this fancy toto brand that you see ads all over the airport. In the stall, you control music, bidet temperature, seat cover temperature, and more. Very modern and very Japanese.
